How to play
Desktop
- Click Play, then choose a mode (vs Computer or 2 Players), your color, a difficulty and a time control.
- Click a piece to see its legal moves, then click a highlighted square. Or drag the piece to its destination.
- Castle by moving your king two squares. When a pawn reaches the last rank, pick the piece you want from the promotion menu.
- Capture the opponent’s king (checkmate) to win. The game also ends in a draw by stalemate, repetition, the 50-move rule or insufficient material.
- Use Undo to take back a move, Hint for a suggestion, Flip to turn the board, and Draw or Resign to end the game. Use the arrow keys to review earlier moves.
Mobile

Game description
Royal Chess is a full-rules chess game for desktop and mobile. Play against a smart computer opponent across five difficulty levels, or challenge a friend on the same screen. With clocks, hints, undo, a move list you can step through, and four board themes, it’s a complete chess experience.
